Dadar Crematorium to Get More Prayer Halls and Better Amenities: Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani

Date:

Mumbai– The Late Bhagojibaluji Kir Hindu Crematorium in Dadar is set to undergo significant upgrades, including additional prayer halls, improved sanitation facilities, and enhanced greenery. The decision was announced by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani during his visit to the crematorium on Wednesday.

During the inspection, Mr. Gagrani reviewed the cremation facilities, burial grounds, barbershops, prayer halls, and other essential services. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (Zone 2) Prashant Sapkale, Assistant Commissioner (G North Ward) Ajitkumar Ambi, and other civic officials.

“The administration must ensure that citizens attending last rites face no inconvenience. We should also explore ways to improve existing facilities,” said Mr. Gagrani. He instructed officials to increase the number of prayer halls, making them more innovative and aesthetically designed.

At present, the crematorium offers both traditional and electric cremation options. Mr. Gagrani suggested exploring alternative fuel sources for traditional cremations instead of using wood, as part of eco-friendly initiatives.

With these proposed enhancements, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) aims to provide a more dignified and comfortable environment for families bidding farewell to their loved ones.
