Panvel Municipal Corporation Sets New Record with ₹370 Crore Property Tax Collection

Date:

Panvel: The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has achieved its highest-ever property tax collection, amassing Rs 370 crore in the financial year 2024-25. This record-breaking collection was made possible through a well-planned strategy executed under the guidance of Commissioner and Administrator Mangesh Chitale.

Deputy Commissioner of the Property Tax Department, Swaroop Kharge, ensured the successful implementation of measures that led to this historic revenue boost. Tax Superintendents Mahesh Gaikwad and Sunil Bhoir, along with their teams, worked relentlessly, keeping offices open even on weekends to maximize collections.

To prevent financial losses, PMC has intensified action against defaulters. Thirteen teams have been deployed across different areas, including CIDCO-transferred sectors, Marble Market, Jawahar Industrial Estate, Taloja Industrial Estate, and Panvel Industrial Estate. Seizure notices have already been issued, followed by warrant notices and confiscation measures against persistent defaulters.

The month of March has seen an unprecedented daily collection of Rs1 crore, with PMC surpassing last year’s total collection of Rs 360 crore by March 31. Remarkably, this year’s record was broken 10 days earlier, on March 19.

Since property tax is the primary revenue source for PMC, authorities have urged citizens to pay their dues on time to support the city’s development and financial stability.
