45,000 Devotees to Benefit
Kalyan, September 11: Ahead of Ganeshotsav, Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde has taken the initiative to provide free bus services to devotees travelling to their native villages. More than 900 free buses have been arranged from the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency for devotees heading towards Konkan and Western Maharashtra.
The initiative, organised under the guidance of Shiv Sena Chief Leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is being implemented through the initiative of Kalyan MP Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde.
Around 45,000 Ganesh devotees are set to benefit from the free transportation service, making their journey home more convenient, safe and stress-free during the festive season.
900+ Free Buses Arranged Across Kalyan Lok Sabha
Ganeshotsav holds a special cultural and emotional significance for people across Maharashtra. Every year, thousands of people working in Mumbai, Thane and surrounding areas travel to their native villages, particularly in Konkan, to celebrate the festival with their families.
Considering the heavy rush on trains, ST buses and private transportation during Ganeshotsav, Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde has continued the initiative of providing free buses to devotees travelling home.
This year, more than 900 buses have been arranged from different parts of the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency.
The approximate distribution includes:
- Kalyan: 250 buses
- Dombivli: 355 buses
- Diva: 147 buses
- Kalwa: 147 buses
- Ambernath and Ulhasnagar: Additional buses
Free Travel to Konkan and Western Maharashtra
The buses are carrying Ganesh devotees to several destinations across Konkan, including Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Chiplun, Lanja and Devgad, along with various other towns and villages.
The service also extends to Western Maharashtra, with devotees travelling towards Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur and other destinations.
For thousands of families, the initiative is expected to significantly reduce both the financial burden and logistical challenges associated with travelling home during the festival rush.
Shrikant Shinde’s Initiative Brings Relief to Ganesh Devotees
The initiative aims to ensure that devotees from the constituency do not have to miss Ganeshotsav in their native villages due to transportation difficulties.
With more than 900 buses deployed, the free travel facility is helping families return to their hometowns and celebrate the festival with their loved ones.
