Bhiwandi: Three people sustained injuries after a container truck allegedly rammed into three vehicles from behind on the Bhiwandi-Padgha-Nashik Road on Saturday evening. Mumbai-Nashik Highway Accident

The incident took place at around 7:30 pm near Padgha village on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway, when the container truck was travelling from Mumbai towards Nashik.

According to preliminary information, the container truck was allegedly being driven recklessly and collided with three vehicles, including a truck and two motorcycles. Mumbai-Nashik Highway accident

Following the collision, the riders and pillion passengers on the two motorcycles lost their balance and fell onto the road, sustaining injuries. The container truck driver also suffered serious injuries in the crash. The impact damaged the vehicles involved in the accident.

Motorists and passersby who witnessed the incident rushed to the spot and found the injured persons lying on the road. They alerted the local police, following which the injured were taken to a nearby Primary Health Centre for first aid.

Two of the injured were discharged after receiving first aid, while the container truck driver, who had sustained serious injuries, was subsequently referred to Sion Hospital in Mumbai for further treatment.

Pankaj Giri, Senior Police Inspector of Padgha Police Station, said, “We will take legal action against the driver for allegedly driving recklessly. We have also collected his blood sample to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol or any other substance while driving the vehicle.” Mumbai-Nashik Highway accident

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and are awaiting the medical and forensic reports.
