Panvel: The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has collected over Rs 341 crore in property tax for the current financial year, spanning from April 2024 to March 4, 2025. The surge in tax payments comes as citizens respond positively to the administration’s appeal for early payments.
With March 31 set as the deadline for property tax payments and a monthly penalty of 2% on overdue amounts, a significant number of residents have been settling their dues. Over the past four days alone, more than Rs 5.56 crore has been collected, with daily deposits exceeding Rs 1 crore.
Digital Push for Property Tax Payments
To facilitate seamless transactions, the municipal corporation has introduced the ‘PMC TAX APP’, allowing property owners to pay taxes online and request name changes in ownership records. Notifications are sent to applicants once updates are processed.
Alternatively, taxpayers can also pay their dues via the official website www.panvelmc.org. Citizens facing any issues regarding property tax can reach out to the toll-free helpline at 1800 5320340.
Civic Administration Urges Timely Payments
Assistant Commissioner Swaroop Kharge emphasized the importance of property tax as a vital revenue source for municipal development projects. He urged all property owners to clear pending dues and support the city’s growth.
With the approaching deadline, the PMC anticipates continued high collections as more citizens step forward to fulfill their tax obligations.
