Navi Mumbai Traffic Alert: Traffic Restrictions for Marathon on March 9, Check Details

Navi Mumbai– The Rabale Traffic Unit of Navi Mumbai Police has issued a notification regarding road closures and traffic restrictions for a marathon scheduled to take place on March 9, 2025. The event, organized by Vishal Technotronics Company, is expected to witness the participation of around 3,000 to 3,500 runners competing in 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km race categories.

The marathon will commence at 4 am from Mindspeace (East) Ground and will follow a route via Times of India, Thane-Belapur Road, Siemens Company, MIDC Road, Bhimnagar, Worli Pada Garden, Gavalidev, and Majestic Court Hotel, before returning to Mindspeace (East) for completion.

To ensure the safety of participants and manage traffic flow, the Rabale Traffic Police has announced the following restrictions:

  • Road Barricading: A section of Thane-Belapur Road from Mindspeace (East) to Siemens Company will be partially barricaded to facilitate the marathon.
  • Complete Road Closure: The route from Siemens Company to Majestic Court Hotel via MIDC will remain completely closed for vehicular movement and parking from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
  • Alternative Route: Commuters are advised to use the Majestic Court Hotel – Siemens Company route to reach their destinations.

The traffic restrictions have been enforced under the Motor Vehicles Act, as per the directive of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Vitthal Kubde, who also serves as the Additional In-Charge Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Navi Mumbai.

Authorities have urged residents and commuters to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the police for the smooth execution of the event.
