In a major development for landowners and stakeholders, the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has announced an extension of the deadline for hearings related to the Navi Mumbai International Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) projects until May 30, 2025. This move aims to give landowners, especially those who did not receive prior notice or were unable to attend earlier hearings, an additional opportunity to present their concerns and complete necessary formalities.
CIDCO was appointed as the Special Planning Authority for the NAINA region on January 10, 2013. Since then, the agency has been tasked with preparing a development plan to promote planned and sustainable urban development around the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. The systematic development of the NAINA region is expected to play a crucial role in the urban growth and economic progress of Maharashtra.
Currently, a total of 12 urban planning projects are proposed under NAINA. Among these, Projects No. 1 and 2 have already secured final approval, while Projects No. 3 to 7 have received preliminary approval. Projects No. 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 are at the final stage of the arbitration hearing process, which began in December 2024.
To ensure smooth implementation and active participation from landowners, CIDCO has launched an extensive public awareness campaign. Landowners are being urged to appear in person with the required documents at the NAINA office, located on the 7th floor of Tower No. 10, CBD-Belapur Railway Station Complex, Navi Mumbai. The office will be open for these interactions during working hours, from 11 AM to 5 PM.
CIDCO’s proactive approach is aimed at addressing landowner concerns fairly and transparently, ultimately paving the way for the timely execution of one of Maharashtra’s most significant urban development initiatives.
