Mumbai: In a prestigious state-level ceremony held in Mumbai, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) received accolades for its exceptional performance under the Maharashtra State Government’s “100 Days Administrative Reform Program.” Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde graced the event.
Dr. Kailas Shinde, the Commissioner of NMMC, was honored with a certificate of merit for securing third place in the category of Best Municipal Commissioner, recognizing the corporation’s outstanding achievements in administrative reforms.
The “100 Days Administrative Reform Program,” launched by the Maharashtra Government, aimed at enhancing the speed, transparency, and citizen-centered delivery of services across government offices. The evaluation criteria for this recognition included the effective use of technology, timely service delivery, implementation of e-office systems, paperless operations, rapid resolution of citizen complaints, and improvements in workplace culture through training.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation stood out in all these areas, making significant strides in innovating administrative processes and delivering services that are accessible and efficient. Under the leadership of Dr. Kailas Shinde, NMMC embraced digitalization and citizen-friendly reforms, which earned it a top rank in the state.
The evaluation was conducted by the Quality Council of India, a recognized third-party institution, based on several key parameters such as service delivery time, public interaction, digitization, and citizen satisfaction. Navi Mumbai secured the third position among all municipal corporations in the state under the special 100-day reform initiative.
Speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde expressed pride in the recognition and stated, “This award is a reflection of our commitment to transparent, responsible, and efficient administration. It serves as motivation to continuously improve and provide faster, more accessible services to the citizens of Navi Mumbai. As part of our citizen-centric approach, we have made 68 public services available online, accessible via mobile phones and WhatsApp. We are also working towards expanding these services further to enhance the citizen experience.”
Dr. Shinde also congratulated the citizens of Navi Mumbai for their support in this achievement and reaffirmed the municipal corporation’s commitment to providing prompt and satisfactory services to all residents.
