With continuous changes in weather patterns, the Pune Meteorological Department has predicted a rise in temperature across the state from March 8. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), both maximum and minimum temperatures have increased in the city, leading to intense heat during the day. The maximum heat is being experienced between 11 AM and 4 PM. The weather department has advised people to remain cautious over the next two months.
IMD reports that after March 8, temperatures will rise further in Mumbai, Pune, and other parts of Maharashtra. During the first week of March, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 35-36°C, while in the second week, it may reach 37°C.
Temperature May Reach 40-41°C in May
According to the department, the maximum temperature in April is likely to range between 38-39°C, while in May, it could soar to 40-41°C. Therefore, people have been urged to take necessary precautions. Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are already experiencing heatwave-like conditions, with temperatures hovering around 37-38°C. People are feeling intense heat even after noon.
Advisory to Stay Cautious
The state government has also issued an advisory asking citizens to stay cautious. The decrease in atmospheric humidity is causing a significant rise in temperature. Additionally, while mornings are still cool, the increasing daytime temperatures are leading to health concerns, with more people falling ill.
