On the occasion of World Day Against Human Trafficking, the Harmony Foundation, in collaboration with its partner NGO Exodus Road India Foundation led by Mr Shyam Kamble, successfully conducted a critical rescue operation with the invaluable support of the Dahisar Crime Branch Unit-12.
This courageous operation led to the rescue of a 17-year-old minor girl, whose age is confirmed by her Aadhaar card (Date of Birth: 20/02/2008). Alongside her, two adult women were also rescued from conditions of exploitation. The quick and decisive action by authorities also resulted in the arrest of two human traffickers, marking a significant step toward justice and victim protection.
The Harmony Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Mumbai Police, especially the dedicated officers of Crime Branch Unit-12, for their commitment to safeguarding human dignity and relentlessly fighting against human trafficking.
Dr. Abraham Mathai, Chairman of Harmony Foundation and Former Vice Chairman of the Minorities Commission, stated: “The rescue of this 17-year-old girl is a relief, but countless others remain trapped in similar situations. It is a wake-up call. While one life has been saved, we should strive to save even more lives.”
He further added, “This rescue operation is a step in the right direction, but the fight against human trafficking is far from over. We urge society to remain vigilant, take action, and work collectively to ensure a future free from such inhuman practices.”
On this solemn day, the Harmony Foundation reiterates its unwavering commitment to ending human trafficking and protecting the rights and lives of the vulnerable.
