Water Supply in Ghatkopar to Be Shut Off for 24 Hours: Full Details on Affected Areas

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a planned water supply disruption in several areas of Ghatkopar, as part of ongoing maintenance works aimed at improving the city’s water distribution network. The water supply will be completely shut off for 24 hours, from 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, to 10:00 AM on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

The affected areas will primarily be in the N and L departments of Ghatkopar. Key maintenance works include the installation of new valves and the repair of leaking water pipelines in various parts of the region. Some of the major tasks include the installation of a 1200 mm diameter valve near Sant Tukaram Bridge and the repair of water pipelines ranging from 600 mm to 1500 mm in diameter.

Residents in the affected areas are being urged to conserve water and cooperate with the municipal authorities during the maintenance period. The BMC has requested that citizens be prepared for the disruption and use water sparingly during this critical period.

Areas Affected:

The following areas in Ghatkopar will experience a disruption in water supply:

N ward: Bhattwadi, Barve Nagar, Municipal Colony (A to K), Kajutekadi, Ramji Nagar, Azad Nagar, Akbar Lala Compound, Sonia Gandhi Nagar, Namdar Balasaheb Desai Colony, among others.

Parts of Vikhroli Park Site, Subhash Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Yashwant Nagar, and more.

L ward: Asalfa Village, Home Guard Colony, Narayan Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Samta Nagar.

Sangharsh Nagar, Khairani Road, Yadav Nagar, and surrounding areas.

The water supply will be completely shut off for 24 hours, from 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, to 10:00 AM on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

BMC’s Appeal:

In a statement, the BMC requested the public’s cooperation and emphasized the importance of water conservation during this period. The corporation assured that the maintenance works were crucial for improving the efficiency and reliability of the water supply network in the area.
