Mumbai– The Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Botanical Garden and Zoo in Byculla will remain open to the public on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, despite it being its usual weekly holiday. The decision comes as Mahashivratri, a public holiday, falls on the same day.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that, as per an existing resolution, whenever a public holiday coincides with the zoo’s weekly off, it remains open on that day and is instead closed the following day. Consequently, the zoo will remain closed on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Visitors planning to explore the iconic botanical garden and zoo can now do so on Mahashivratri, with operations running as usual. The Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Zoo, one of Mumbai’s major attractions, is home to various exotic and indigenous species and is a favorite among nature and wildlife enthusiasts.
For further updates, visitors are advised to check official BMC notifications before planning their visit.
