Unauthorized Construction Demolished in Airoli by NMMC Despite Prior Notice

Date:

Airoli: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) conducted a demolition drive in Airoli today, targeting unauthorized construction that had continued despite prior notice from the Encroachment Department. The structure in question, located at H-70, Sector 4, Airoli, was constructed illegally by Pradeep Mahavir Yadav without obtaining necessary permissions from the civic body.

The Airoli Ward Office had earlier served a notice under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, instructing the owner to voluntarily remove the unauthorized construction. However, the failure to comply led to a partial demolition of the structure on Tuesday.

The operation was executed by the Airoli Division team, led by Assistant Commissioner and Divisional Officer Mr. Sunil Kathole and Junior Engineer Sandeep Mhatre. Officials and staff from the G Division, Airoli, along with the Encroachment Police Team, were present during the action.

For the demolition, equipment including a gas cutter, two hammers, and a team of eight laborers were deployed. The NMMC reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against unauthorized developments across the city to ensure planned and legal urban growth.
