Tragic Incident: Two Agniveers Died During Firing Practice in Maharashtra

Two Agniveers lost their lives on Thursday as a result of an explosion from an Indian field gun during a training exercise at the Artillery Centre in Nashik, Maharashtra.

The Agniveers had traveled from Hyderabad for training at Artillery School in Deolali, Nashik, Maharashtra. The Army has initiated a court of inquiry into the incident to determine the exact cause of the accident, as per Army officials.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Nashik Road area, as per the police.

The Agniveers, identified as 20-year-old Gohil Vishwaraj Singh and 21-year-old Saifat, were participating in the practice session. A shell exploded during the firing exercise, resulting in injuries to both individuals.

They were taken to MH Hospital in Deolali, where medical personnel pronounced them dead.

Following a complaint by Havildar Ajit Kumar, authorities have filed a case of accidental death at the Deolali Camp police station. Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
