Pay Pending Water Bills Now! NMMC Warns 1,064 Defaulters in Kopar Khairane

Date:

Koparkhairne: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a strict crackdown on 1,064 water bill defaulters in the Kopar Khairane area, issuing notices and disconnecting 69 unauthorized water connections. The action has led to a surge in bill payments, with the civic body collecting Rs 1.34 crore in revenue under the Abhay Yojana.

With the municipal authorities tightening their grip, defaulters are now lining up to clear their dues. The drive, led by Kopar Khairane Division Officer Vasant Mundaware and Executive Engineer Shankar Jadhav, is being executed by Assistant Engineer Ajit Bhavar and Junior Engineer Nageshwar Itkapalle.

To encourage defaulters to settle their dues, NMMC had even introduced the Abhay Yojana, offering a 50% penalty waiver until March 31. The civic body remains firm on recovering outstanding payments, ensuring strict enforcement against unpaid water bills.
