The Maharashtra Primary Education Council has directed all schools and junior colleges across the state to ensure that the number of students listed as non-study in the U-DISE Plus system’s drop box is reduced to zero. In South Mumbai alone, 17,439 students are currently registered in the drop box.
According to the Department of Education, students registered in the Drop Box of the U-DICE system are those students who are no longer studying in school.
Instructions to Bring Students to Active Status
- The Education Department has instructed every school to ensure all students listed in the drop box are either brought back to active in-school status or categorized appropriately.
- For students who have transferred to other schools, their details will be shared with the concerned institutions to allow them to update their records accordingly.
- Students in classes 9 and 11 appearing for exams under Form 17 should have their status updated to “Other Mode of Study.”
- Schools must mark Class 12 graduates as “passed out” and remove their names from the drop box.
This initiative aims to streamline student data and ensure accurate reporting in the U-DISE Plus system.
