The online admission process for Class 11 in Maharashtra will commence from May 19. Until now, the online system was implemented in six regions of the state, but this year, the state government has decided to extend it across Maharashtra.
Amid this transition, there has been a rise in fraudulent websites claiming to offer admission services, causing concern among students and parents. The Education Department has urged everyone to be cautious and avoid falling prey to such fake portals.
According to the department, the online admission system was earlier applicable only in municipal regions of Mumbai, Pune-Pimpri Chinchwad, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. However, from this academic year, a uniform online process will be adopted for all junior colleges across the state.
The aim of this move is to bring transparency to the admission process, ensure uniformity, and curb irregularities. The department has also informed that detailed guidelines regarding the admission procedure will be released after the results of the Maharashtra State Board’s Class 10 exams are declared.
