Now, DG Pravesh App Mandatory for Entry into Mantralaya

Date:

Since the DG Pravesh app works only on smartphones, concerns remain about how citizens without smartphones will gain entry.

Mumbai: The Home Department of Maharashtra has issued revised guidelines for entry into Mantralaya. As before, the general public will be allowed entry after 2 p.m., but now only through the DG Pravesh online app-based system.

Senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be allowed entry from 12 noon onwards. After 2 p.m., there will be a separate queue for them. Government officers and employees working at Mantralaya and the state legislature will continue to have access through their official ID cards with Face ID recognition. However, all other government employees will also need to obtain entry passes through the DG Pravesh app.

The Home Department’s Government Resolution (GR) also covers revised guidelines for visitors and vehicle entry into Mantralaya, and the decision is effective immediately.

Citizens entering through the DG Pravesh system will be issued an RFID card, which must be returned before exiting—otherwise, they will not be allowed to leave.

Parking Pass for One Vehicle per VIP

State dignitaries like the Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, and Ministers will be granted parking passes for one vehicle. Rules have also been framed for “dropping passes.” Sitting MLAs and MPs will get one dropping pass for a single vehicle. PWD vehicles will require a valid disability vehicle certificate.

DG Pravesh for Other Government Staff

Mantralaya and legislature staff will have entry through Face ID recognition. For all other government employees, DG Pravesh app registration is mandatory. Employees from regional offices attending meetings at Mantralaya must upload a letter from the concerned Mantralaya officer to the DG Pravesh app one day in advance. For such meetings, only two officials from the concerned department will be allowed entry.

Since the DG Pravesh app works only on smartphones, concerns remain about how citizens without smartphones will gain entry.
