Chavan further stated that a crucial meeting would be held within the next four days under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, bringing together officials from all four concerned departments. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule also assured a positive resolution to the issue.

A meeting regarding these 65 buildings in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) area was held at the Ministry under the chairmanship of Bawankule. The meeting was attended by Chavan, MLAs Niranjan Davkhare and Gyaneshwar Mhatre, along with officials from relevant departments. Additionally, the KDMC Commissioner and collectors from Thane, Raigad, Palghar, and Mumbai participated via video conferencing.

Adoption of the Ulhasnagar Pattern Suggested

Chavan highlighted that the residents of these 65 buildings have a legitimate right to their homes. Many families have either pooled their savings or taken home loans from banks to purchase these flats. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that these thousands of residents continue to have a roof over their heads. He pointed out that a similar issue had arisen in Ulhasnagar, where the government had adopted a legal approach to resolve it. He suggested that a similar “Ulhasnagar pattern” should be considered to find a positive solution for these buildings as well. Additionally, the Agiyar Committee’s report regarding certain other buildings in Kalyan-Dombivli should be reviewed positively to ensure justice for affected residents.
