NMMC Pushes for Digital Tax Payment and Modern Record Management

Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde inspected various civic facilities in Airoli, focusing on improving public services last week. His visit included the Airoli Divisional Office, Rajmata Jijau Hospital, Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial, and road and footpath works in Sectors 3 and 4.

Dr. Shinde emphasized the need for smooth and obstruction-free roads and footpaths. He directed the engineering department to ensure proper resurfacing of roads after any excavation work. Officials were instructed to accelerate ongoing repairs and maintain internal roads for seamless traffic movement.

At the Airoli Divisional Office, he reviewed the implementation of the 100-day action plan. He suggested increasing seating in waiting areas, providing informative books, ensuring access to clean drinking water, and maintaining sanitation. Additionally, he urged officials to enhance online tax payment facilities and modernize record management.

While inspecting Rajmata Jijau Hospital, Dr. Shinde stressed the need for advanced medical equipment such as portable X-ray and sonography machines. He instructed the prompt operationalization of a blood bank and breast milk bank. To aid patient convenience, he suggested keeping the canteen open at night and ensuring high food quality.

During his visit to the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial, he emphasized deep cleaning and repairs ahead of the upcoming birth anniversary celebrations. The memorial’s library entrance will also undergo repainting.

Dr. Shinde reiterated that civic facilities must be citizen-centric and well-maintained. Senior NMMC officials, local representatives, and residents participated in the inspection, providing feedback to the Commissioner.
