Mumbai Local Update: Mega Block on Central and Western Railway Suburban Sections on February 23, 2025

The Central Railway and Western Railway will operate a Mega Block on their suburban sections for various engineering and maintenance works on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Central Railway Block

On Central Railway, a block will be in place on the Up and Down Fast Lines between Thane and Kalyan stations from 10:40 AM to 3:40 PM.

  • Down Fast/Semi-Fast services departing CSMT Mumbai between 9:34 AM and 3:03 PM will be diverted to the Down Slow Line between Thane and Kalyan, with additional halts at Kalva, Mumbra, and Diva. These trains will reach their destinations 10 minutes later than scheduled.
  • Up Fast/Semi-Fast services departing Kalyan between 10:28 AM and 3:40 PM will be diverted to the Up Slow Line between Kalyan and Thane, stopping at Diva, Mumbra, and Kalva before being re-diverted to the Up Fast Line at Mulund station. These trains will also reach their destinations 10 minutes later than scheduled.
  • Long-distance mail and express trains departing from CSMT/Dadar will be diverted to the 5th line between Thane and Kalyan. Similarly, incoming mail and express trains to CSMT/Dadar will be diverted to the 6th line between Kalyan and Thane/Vikhroli.

Harbour Line Block

A block will also be in place on the Up and Down Trans-Harbour Lines between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM.

  • Up Trans-Harbour services from Panvel/Nerul/Vashi towards Thane will remain suspended between 10:25 AM (from Vashi) and 4:09 PM (from Nerul).
  • Down Trans-Harbour services from Thane towards Vashi/Nerul/Panvel will be suspended between 10:35 AM and 4:07 PM.

Western Railway Block

To facilitate track, signaling, and overhead equipment maintenance, Western Railway will operate a five-hour jumbo block between Santacruz and Goregaon stations on the Up and Down Fast Lines from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

  • All fast suburban trains on this route will be diverted to the slow line during the block.
  • Some local trains will be canceled, while select services between Andheri and Borivali will operate up to Goregaon via the Harbour Line.
  • Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly as delays and disruptions are expected.
