Illegal mobile towers installed on buildings in various municipal areas of Thane district, including Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, and Bhiwandi, are set to face strict action. The process of removing these towers will soon commence.
During the recent budget session, the issue of illegal mobile towers in Thane district was raised prominently. One of the key concerns highlighted was the mobile tower installed by Indus Company on the building of Shri Vinayak Ashish Co-operative Housing Society in Manda, Thane. Residents of the society have lodged complaints with the municipal authorities regarding the problems caused by this tower.
Taking action on the complaint, officials have assured that the process of removing the tower will begin soon. This assurance was given by the concerned minister in response to questions raised during the Question Hour.
The minister also acknowledged that Indus Company had ignored the residents’ objections and had even broken the official seal placed by the municipal corporation on the tower. Moreover, the company resumed its operations without obtaining the necessary permission. When this issue came to the attention of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), the tower was declared illegal, and steps were initiated to remove it.
