Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has seen a record-breaking response to its latest recruitment drive, with 84,774 candidates applying for 668 posts in Group-C and Group-D categories. The application window, which opened on March 28 and closed on May 19, saw intense interest from aspirants across the region.
The post of Clerk-Typist emerged as the most sought-after, drawing over 23,000 applications for just 135 vacancies. Similarly, more than 15,000 applications were received for 51 positions of Multipurpose Health Worker (Malaria), while the Junior Engineer (Civil) role attracted 14,558 applicants for 83 posts. The Staff Nurse/Midwife (G.N.M.) category also saw substantial engagement with 12,634 applications for 131 vacancies.
Responding to the high turnout, NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde urged applicants to rely exclusively on official sources for updates. He encouraged them to visit the NMMC website, www.nmmc.gov.in, and follow the Corporation’s verified accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for accurate information.
Dr. Shinde also issued a strong warning against fake news and misinformation, advising candidates not to fall for rumors or unofficial claims about the recruitment process. He assured that the selection would be conducted transparently and fairly.
