Govinda’s Recovery Progressing Well; Discharge Possible Soon, Says Wife

Mumbai — Veteran actor Govinda is on the mend following a bullet injury to his leg sustained on Tuesday morning. The 60-year-old actor accidentally shot himself while handling his licensed revolver at his residence in Mumbai. Reports from the Mumbai Police indicate that the incident occurred when the gun slipped from Govinda’s hand while he was placing it back in a cupboard. At the time, he was preparing for a trip to Kolkata. Fortunately, the bullet has been removed, and doctors have confirmed his condition is stable.

Wife Sunita Ahuja Provides Health Update

Sunita Ahuja, Govinda’s wife, visited him at Criticare Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. She spoke to the media, assuring fans that the actor is improving and may be discharged soon. Sunita stated, “His health is much better now. He has been moved to the normal ward and will likely be discharged tomorrow or the day after.” She also expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support and prayers from fans, adding with a touch of humor, “He’ll be dancing again in a few months.”

Several Bollywood celebrities have visited Govinda to check on his health. Actors Raveena Tandon and Rajpal Yadav were seen at the hospital, with Yadav sharing his thoughts on Govinda’s recovery with the media. He praised Govinda’s positive spirit and expressed hope for the actor’s swift return to work, calling him one of the legends of Hindi cinema.

Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, also confirmed that the actor is in stable condition and in good spirits. The incident, which could have had more serious consequences, has ended on a positive note, with a hopeful outlook for the beloved actor.
