Thane: The traffic congestion problem on Ghodbunder Road is worsening day by day. Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnayak believes that until the merging of the Ghodbunder service road is completed, restricting the movement of heavy vehicles during the daytime is necessary to ease the situation. In coordination with Thane Traffic Police, Mira-Bhayandar, and Palghar Traffic Police, he has directed that heavy vehicles will only be permitted to ply between 12 midnight and 6 am on this route.
The minister also instructed that an official notification regarding this decision should be issued at the earliest. He further emphasized that the pending work of merging Ghodbunder service road should commence on September 15 and be completed by December 31, with strict adherence to the work plan set by MMRDA.
