Gautam Adani Reviews NMIA Progress, Inauguration Pushed to June 2025

Date:

The much-anticipated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is now set to be inaugurated in June 2025, instead of the earlier planned timeline of April. The revised schedule was revealed during a recent site visit by Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, who reviewed the project’s progress.

A statement issued on Sunday, March 16, by a spokesperson for Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (NMIAL) confirmed that the project is on a fast-track course for completion, with the inauguration scheduled for June 2025.

On March 16, Dr. Priti Adani, Jeet Adani, and Diva Adani, Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., and Captain BVJK Sharma, CEO of NMIAL, were present for the review. Representatives from NMIAL, as well as partner and stakeholder companies, also attended the meeting.

NMIA saw its first commercial aircraft landing on December 29, 2024, when an IndiGo A320 took off from Mumbai Airport and successfully landed on the newly constructed 08/26 runway at Navi Mumbai Airport.

During the event, Vijay Singhal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, along with NMIAL officials, had stated that the airport’s inauguration would take place in mid-April, with regular domestic operations starting in May 2025. Currently, interior work and connectivity infrastructure are progressing at a rapid pace.
