Diva, Titwala, Shahad, and Belapur Stations to Get a Major Makeover Under ‘Amrit Bharat’ Scheme

Date:

Under the Indian Railways’ ambitious ‘Amrit Bharat’ scheme, a total of 132 railway stations in Maharashtra are set to be redeveloped, including four major stations in the Thane district. Around Rs 110 crore will be spent on upgrading Diva, Shahad, and Titwala stations under Central Railway, and Belapur station on the Harbour Line.

The most significant allocation, Rs 45 crore, has been earmarked for the redevelopment of Diva station, which has witnessed a steep rise in passenger footfall in recent years and is now considered one of the busiest stations. Additionally, Rs 25 crore will be invested in the redevelopment of Titwala station on the Kasara route. Shahad station will receive Rs 8.4 crore, while Rs 32 crore has been allocated for Belapur station.

Officials from Indian Railways have stated that the project will focus on providing modern and enhanced facilities for passengers. The redevelopment will include waiting lounges, food courts, upgraded restrooms, lifts, escalators, and digital services. The stations will also undergo beautification and modernization, with a special emphasis on ensuring passenger convenience during and after the redevelopment process.
