Navi Mumbai: In a landmark achievement for India’s freight infrastructure, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited DFCCIL Sets New Record with Launch of India’s Longest Rail Flyover Girder in Kalamboli, on the JNPT–NILJE stretch of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
Spanning 110.5 meters and weighing an estimated 1,500 tonnes, the massive girder forms part of a Rail Flyover (RFO) — now the largest ever executed by DFCCIL. The launch involved a complex radial shifting of 34 meters across active Indian Railways tracks, showcasing cutting-edge engineering and meticulous project execution.
The high-stakes operation was closely monitored and graced by the presence of the DFCCIL Managing Director, underscoring the significance of this milestone.
This successful launch reflects DFCCIL’s strategic commitment to enhancing freight mobility, reducing logistics costs, and boosting the backbone of India’s supply chain network.
