As several countries around the world witness a surge in COVID-19 cases due to new variants, India has also ramped up its preparedness. After Pune and Mumbai, cases of coronavirus infection are now being reported from Thane. Considering the seriousness of the situation, a special 40-bed COVID ward has been set up at Thane Civil Hospital, equipped with all necessary medical equipment and facilities.
Fully Equipped, Air-Conditioned COVID Ward
The newly established special ward at Thane Civil Hospital is fully air-conditioned and equipped with advanced medical devices. A dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and support staff has been deployed to manage the ward. Facilities for screening, isolation, and treatment of patients are available within the ward. District Civil Surgeon Dr. Kailash Pawar stated that the administration is fully alert and prepared to deal with any potential increase in cases.
10 Mild Cases Detected in Thane Municipal Area
In the past three days, ten new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Thane Municipal Corporation area. All patients are exhibiting only mild symptoms and are currently undergoing treatment at home. In response, Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has instructed the health department and all hospitals to remain on alert. A review meeting was held on Friday, where Rao discussed the situation with senior departmental officials.
Guidelines Issued
The health department has issued advisories for the use of masks and sanitizers in schools, colleges, offices, malls, and markets across the city. Citizens are urged to avoid crowded places, maintain hand hygiene, and seek immediate testing and treatment if symptoms appear. Authorities emphasized that public awareness and cooperation are key to preventing a potential new wave of COVID-19.
