Shocking Incident at Diva Station: Man Electrocuted on Train Roof

Railway authorities strongly condemned such risky and unlawful acts, warning that traveling on train rooftops is not only extremely dangerous but also a serious offense under the Railway Act.

Mumbai: Mumbai witnessed a shocking incident this morning when a young man sustained severe injuries after coming into contact with a high-voltage overhead wire while on top of an AC local train near Diva station.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on train number K/25. According to reports, the youth was spotted sitting on the roof of coach number 198716 CR as the train approached Diva station. Mumbai

Railway Police Sub-Inspector J.K. Verma, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shivkumar Meena, and station staff immediately rushed to the spot. The injured youth was brought down from the train’s roof and rushed by ambulance to Shivaji Hospital in Kalwa for urgent treatment. Doctors have described his condition as critical.

Train services were briefly disrupted due to the accident, causing a delay of 26 minutes. Services resumed at 10:38 a.m. after clearance.
