Date:

Mumbai: In an important move to promote affordable housing, the Konkan Housing and Area Development Board—part of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA)—has announced a reduction in the sale prices of 6,248 flats under the “First Come, First Served” scheme for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). These flats are located in Mouje Shirgaon and Mouje Khoni in Kalyan taluka of Thane district and fall under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) initiative launched in 2024.

MHADA Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal approved the revised prices. As per the updated rates:

*5,236 flats in Mouje Shirgaon will now be sold at a reduced price of ₹19,28,742 each—a cut of ₹1,43,404 per unit.

*1,012 flats in Mouje Khoni will now be available for ₹19,11,700 each—a reduction of ₹1,01,800 per unit.

“This price reduction will provide direct financial relief to eligible homebuyers and improve housing access for economically weaker families,” said Revati Gaikar, Chief Officer of the Konkan Board.

The move is part of MHADA’s broader strategy to support inclusive urban development and expand affordable housing opportunities across Maharashtra.
