When NMMC Students Get Free Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Taekwondo, Football Coaching by Expert Trainers, Know Here

In an initiative to nurture young sporting talent, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has organized a special summer sports training camp for students of municipal schools under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde. A total of 234 students—including 31 in kabaddi, 28 in kho-kho, 89 in taekwondo, and 86 in football—are participating in the camp.

The camp, conducted by the Sports and Cultural Department in collaboration with the Education Department, aims to provide technical and scientific training in various sports during the summer vacation.

Given the growing interest and proficiency among students in kabaddi, kho-kho, taekwondo, and football, the camp has been designed to enhance their skills under the supervision of expert and experienced coaches. The initiative is expected to boost NMMC’s performance in sports at various competitive levels.

The training sessions are being conducted at multiple venues including Kabaddi at NMMC School No. 76/105, Ghansoli, Kho-Kho: NMMC School No. 41, Adavali-Bhutavali and Football & Taekwondo: NMMC School No. 36/122, Koparkhairane.

A total of 234 students—including 31 in kabaddi, 28 in kho-kho, 89 in taekwondo, and 86 in football—are participating in the camp. The students are provided with nutritious snacks and sports uniforms including T-shirts and shorts by the corporation.

The camp, which began on May 2, will continue until May 15, with daily sessions from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Two experienced coaches have been appointed for each sport, supported by assistant trainers and instructors from the Sports Department.

Deputy Commissioner of Education Mrs. Sangharatna Khillare, Education Extension Officer Mrs. Sulabha Barghare, along with the headmasters and teachers of the respective schools, have played a pivotal role in organizing the camp. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde congratulated the participating students and urged them to make the most of this training opportunity.

The success of the camp is also credited to the dedicated efforts of Deputy Commissioner of Sports Mrs. Abhilasha Patil, Sports Officer Mr. Revappa Gurav, and the supporting staff of the Sports Department.
