Does Water Supply Improve in Kharghar and Taloja After PMC Chief Order, Know Here

Date:

Panvel: In response to the ongoing water shortage in Kharghar and Taloja, Commissioner and Administrator Mangesh Chitale has issued instructions to CIDCO and MIDC to restore water supply to previous levels. CIDCO will increase the supply by 6 MLD for Kharghar, and MIDC will provide an additional 3 MLD for Taloja, ensuring normal water distribution resumes.

The decision was made during a meeting convened at the Panvel Municipal Corporation headquarters to address the reduced water supply in these areas. Previously, Kharghar received 76 MLD, and Taloja received 18 MLD, but recent shortfalls have reduced the supply to 70 MLD for Kharghar and 15 MLD for Taloja.

Present at the meeting were Additional Commissioner Ganesh Shete, Transport Manager Kailas Gawde, and officials from CIDCO, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, MIDC, and the Municipal Corporation. Local MLA Prashant Thakur had earlier emphasized the urgency of addressing the issue, prompting the meeting to find a solution and prevent further inconvenience to residents.
