Mumbai: In a move set to simplify travel for thousands of passengers, Central Railway’s Mumbai Division has rolled out a QR code-based digital information system at key stations including CSMT, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), and Panvel.
The new initiative allows travelers to scan prominently displayed QR codes at these stations to instantly access a wide range of essential information, including:
Timetables for Mail and Express trains
Passenger Reservation System (PRS) rules
Train route maps
The official Central Railway website
Direct access to the RailMadad portal for complaints and assistance

How it helps commuters:
Real-time updates: No more searching bulletin boards or waiting in line—passengers get immediate access to the latest train schedules with a quick scan.
Travel made easier: New or infrequent travelers can easily find routes and PRS rules without confusion.
Paperless convenience: The system reduces the need for printed timetables, making it eco-friendly and accessible from any smartphone.
Faster help: Access to the RailMadad portal means that help is just a tap away for grievances or assistance.
A senior official from Central Railway noted, “This initiative aligns with our goal of creating a smarter, more responsive railway system. It empowers travelers with accurate information at their fingertips, reducing dependency on staff and outdated displays.”
With this digital push, Central Railway is improving operational efficiency and offering a smarter, smoother travel experience to millions of daily passengers across Mumbai.
