Football fans in Navi Mumbai are eagerly awaiting the much-anticipated clash between Real Madrid Legends and FC Barcelona Legends, set to take place at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium, Nerul, on April 6, 2025. With thousands of spectators expected to attend, the Navi Mumbai traffic police have announced a series of restrictions to ensure smooth traffic flow and security in the area.
From 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM on April 6, movement and parking of public vehicles will be prohibited on the service road near the stadium and adjoining roads. The restricted routes include the service road between Bhimashankar Society and L.P. Rickshaw Stand, as well as L.P. Bridge, Shivaji Chowk, Shani Mandir Arch, and Bhimashankar Cut. Raheja Universal and Mindspace have been designated as official parking zones for the event.
According to an official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade, these restrictions are being enforced under the Motor Vehicles Act to prevent congestion. Alternative travel routes have been suggested, with vehicles being rerouted via the Sion-Panvel Highway between Uran Phata and L.P. Bridge. Additional options include Nerul Station via Shivaji Chowk and Palm Beach Road, as well as a diversion from Uran Phata Bridge through Apollo Hospital.
Emergency service vehicles—including ambulances, fire brigades, police vehicles, and government-authorized transport—will be exempt from these restrictions. Additionally, vehicles with official passes issued by the football club’s management will be allowed to operate in restricted areas.
The Navi Mumbai Traffic Department has urged commuters to plan their travel in advance and follow designated routes to avoid inconvenience.
