Now, ‘Know Your Doctor’ by Scanning a QR Code

Date:

In a bid to enhance transparency and curb fraudulent medical practices, the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has launched the ‘Know Your Doctor’ (KYD) Platform. This initiative mandates all 1.4 lakh registered allopathic doctors to display a QR code-based KYD card in their clinics, allowing patients to instantly verify their credentials.

The MMC, a quasi-judicial body responsible for regulating medical practitioners, announced the initiative via email on Friday. By scanning the QR code with a smartphone or computer, patients can access verified information, including a doctor’s qualifications, licences, and specialisations.
