Navi Mumbai: As part of the ongoing Swachh Survekshan 2024, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has appealed to citizens for active participation to further improve the city’s cleanliness ranking. Navi Mumbai, which currently holds the second rank nationally, has been included in the prestigious ‘Super Swachh League’—a recognition given to the top three cities in the country.
While this is a moment of pride, it also comes with increased responsibility, said Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, urging citizens to step up their cleanliness efforts.
Key Areas of Focus for Citizens
✔️ Proper Waste Segregation: Residents must separate wet, dry, and hazardous waste at the source and ensure that it is handed over in a segregated manner to NMMC waste collection vehicles.
✔️ Community Cleanliness: Apart from keeping homes clean, citizens should ensure that the surroundings of their homes and societies remain litter-free.
✔️ Participation in Swachh Survekshan 2024: The ‘Citizen Feedback’ component plays a vital role in the city’s ranking. Residents can provide their feedback by visiting https://sbmurban.org/feedback and answering ten survey questions to help improve Navi Mumbai’s position.
✔️ Use of Grievance Redressal System: NMMC has introduced an efficient Grievance Redressal System and launched the ‘My NMMC’ app, allowing citizens to report cleanliness issues and track resolutions.
The NMMC is actively promoting citizen engagement through QR codes, website links, and awareness campaigns. The municipal commissioner has called on every resident to submit their feedback, motivate family and friends to participate, and contribute towards making Navi Mumbai the cleanest city in India.
