NMMC Cracks Down on Illegal Construction in Belapur

Date:

Navi Mumbai– The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out an anti-encroachment operation in Belapur after repeated notices were ignored by the concerned individuals. Under the directives of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde and the guidance of Additional Commissioner (2) Dr. Rahul Gethe and Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Mr. Bhagwat Doiphode, the encroachment department took strict action against unauthorized structures.

Officials had earlier issued a notice under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act to Swami Rajaram Tandel for illegal construction at House No. 334/0004 in Karave Village, Sector 36. Despite being instructed to remove the structure voluntarily, the construction continued.

In response, a demolition drive was conducted by the Belapur division officials, led by Assistant Commissioner Dr. Amol Palve and Junior Engineer Mr. Atmaram Kale. The operation involved a team of laborers, heavy equipment, and police personnel to ensure the effective removal of the unauthorized structure.

Authorities have warned that similar anti-encroachment drives will be intensified in the coming days to curb illegal constructions across the city.
