Superstar Chiranjeevi’s Statement Sparks Controversy: Fears Another Granddaughter Might Be Born

Date:

South Indian superstar and politician Chiranjeevi has stirred controversy with his recent statement. He expressed his preference for his son, Ram Charan, to have a son rather than a daughter, so that the family legacy could continue. During an event, Chiranjeevi remarked that it seems like Ram Charan might have a daughter, but he personally wishes for a grandson. This comment has now led to widespread debate.

Ahead of the release of the film Brahma Anandam, Chiranjeevi spoke at an event, saying, “When I am at home, I don’t feel like I am surrounded by granddaughters. Instead, I feel like a hostel warden surrounded by several women. I tell Ram Charan that, at least, there should be one son to carry forward our legacy.”

His remarks have led to widespread criticism, with fans expressing disappointment. Many social media users have trolled him for his gender-biased comments. One user commented, “Being such a big star, it’s disheartening to see him differentiating between a son and a daughter. Daughters also carry forward the legacy.” Another user remarked, “Chiranjeevi seems to be afraid that Ram Charan might have a daughter instead of a son.”

However, Chiranjeevi has two daughters, Sreeja Konidela and Sushmita Konidela. He also has four granddaughters—Navishka, Nivriti, Samara, and Samith. His son, Ram Charan, welcomed a daughter, Klin Kaara, on June 20, 2023.
