Mumbai: It was a dream come true for the students of NMMC’s PM Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj School as they got the incredible opportunity to watch a live IPL match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium — not just as spectators, but alongside Nita Ambani, owner of the Mumbai Indians, and renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle.
Known for its commitment to innovation and all-round student development, the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Nagar, Rabale-based school under the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, once again led the way in creating unforgettable learning experiences outside the classroom.
More than 450 students from NMMC School No. 55 were part of this special initiative, made possible through the efforts of the NGO ‘CRY’ and the initiative of former Mayor Mr. Sudhakar Sonawane. Deputy Commissioner of the Education Department Sangharatna Khillare and school principal Snehal Vishe were instrumental in bringing this initiative to life.
For most of the students — many from hardworking labor families — this was their first time witnessing the energy of a live cricket match in a world-class stadium. The excitement was unmistakable, with wide smiles and shining eyes seen across the faces of students, teachers, and staff alike.
This initiative not only gave the students a taste of world-class sport but also left them with memories that will inspire and motivate them for years to come.
