Residents of Bhandup, Kurla, Andheri East, Bandra East, and Dadar will face a 30-hour water cut between February 5 and 6, as per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
According to BMC, the work of laying a new 2400 mm diameter water pipeline between Powai Anchor Block and Maroshi Water Shaft has been completed. Due to this, the 1800 mm diameter Tansa East and West pipelines will be partially disconnected to integrate the newly installed 2400 mm pipeline. This work will begin at 11 AM on February 5 and will continue till 5 PM on February 6, 2025, lasting for a total of 30 hours.
Areas Affected by Water Supply Disruption
S Ward:
Shivram Pada, Khindi Pada, Tulshet Pada, Milind Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Bhandup (West), Gautam Nagar, Filter Pada, Mahatma Phule Nagar, Sarvodaya Nagar, and nearby areas will face water cuts. Other affected regions include Gaondevi Hill, Tembhi Pada, LBS Road, Sonapur Junction to Mangatram Petrol Pump area, Pratap Nagar Marg, Phule Nagar Hill, Hanuman Hill, Ashok Hill, and Shinde Maidan area.
L Ward (Kurla):
In South Kurla, water supply will be disrupted in areas like Kaju Pada, Sundarbaug, Nav Pada, Halav Pool, Kapadia Nagar, New MHADA Colony, Pipeline Road, and LBS Marg. In North Kurla, 90 Feet Road, Kurla-Andheri Road, Jarimari, Ghatkopar-Andheri Link Road, and Saki Vihar Road will also experience a complete water shutdown.
G North Ward (Dharavi):
Water supply will be completely shut in Dharavi Main Road, Ganesh Mandir Road, Dilip Kadam Road, Jasmine Mile Road, Mahim Phatak, Matunga Labour Camp, Sant Rohidas Road, 60 Feet Road, 90 Feet Road, and Dharavi Loop Road.
K East Ward (Andheri East):
Vijay Nagar Marol, Military Road, Marol Gaon, Church Road, Hill View Society, Kadamwadi, Om Nagar, Kanti Nagar, Rajasthan Society, and Sahar Gaon will face a complete water cut. Other affected areas include the International Airport, Maheshwari Nagar, Upadhyay Nagar, Thakur Chawl, Salve Nagar, Bhavani Nagar, Durga Pada, Chakala, Prakash Wadi, Govind Wadi, Malpa Dongri No. 1 and 2, Hanuman Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony (partially), Airport Road Area, Sagbagh, and Marol MIDC Area.
H East Ward (Bandra East):
Water supply will remain disrupted in Bandra Terminus, Kherwadi Service Road, Behram Pada, Khernagar, and Nirmal Nagar.
Residents in these areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance to cope with the disruption.
