15% Surge in Online Property Tax Payments as Navi Mumbai Adopts Digital Ease

Date:

Navi Mumbai has witnessed a 15% rise in online property tax payments, reflecting the success of the municipal corporation’s newly upgraded digital system. With a focus on seamless transactions, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde has implemented advanced technology to make tax payments faster and more user-friendly.

The modern platform offers multiple payment options, including net banking, UPI, QR codes, and digital wallets, encouraging citizens to move away from traditional in-office payments. In the next 10-12 days, the system will be further strengthened with the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) launch, allowing direct payments through all major banks and digital platforms, accessible 24/7 from anywhere.

With BBPS in place, officials anticipate an additional 15-20% increase in online transactions. To further benefit taxpayers, the municipal corporation has announced a 50% waiver on penalty fees for overdue property tax payments, valid until March 31, 2025.
