Relief from Quack Doctors: Medical Council’s campaign

Date:

People will soon be able to get rid of quack doctors in the state. Maharashtra Medical Council is going to implement the QR code system by the end of this month. Due to this, 1 lakh 40 thousand MBBS doctors of the state will have to put this QR code outside their clinics. By scanning this QR code, the patient will be able to easily know whether the doctor from whom he is getting treatment is genuine or a fake practitioner.

Now, QR Codes Will Verify Your Doctor’s Authenticity

Due to lack of information, people often end up trusting anyone as a doctor, which sometimes leads them to quacks. This not only risks their health but also results in financial losses. However, the new system will eliminate such risks. Through the QR code, patients can now easily verify a doctor’s credentials. As part of this initiative, QR codes will be issued to these doctors.

QR Codes to Be Installed Outside Clinics by Month-End

Dr. Pinky Rughwani, administrator of the Maharashtra Medical Council said that out of the 1.9 lakh MBBS doctors in the state, 1.4 lakh have renewed their registrations. Under the “Identify Your Doctors” campaign, QR codes will be issued to all these doctors by the end of the month. Displaying this QR code outside their clinics will be mandatory. Patients can scan the code to access details such as the doctor’s degree and registration status etc.

Access Doctor Details from Home

Dr. Rughwani also mentioned that, apart from QR codes, a mobile app is being developed. This app will have details of all registered MBBS doctors in the state. Using this app, people will be able to verify whether a doctor is genuine or fake even while sitting at home.
