Navi Mumbai: In a bid to address challenges faced by the industrial and business community, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde held a special meeting at the municipal headquarters. The discussion aimed at boosting industrial growth, streamlining administrative processes, and fostering a business-friendly environment in the city.
On the occasion, Dr. Shinde stressed the need for water conservation amid rapid redevelopment set to increase the city’s population.
Senior officials from MIDC, APMC Market, Thane-Belapur Industries Association, Small Scale Industries Association, CREDAI MCHI Navi Mumbai Builders Association, Indian Institute of Architects, Chemists and Druggists Association, Wholesalers Association, and Navi Mumbai Traders Association participated in the meeting.
During the interaction, industry representatives raised concerns about administrative hurdles and regulatory challenges. In response, Dr. Shinde assured them of swift action and directed municipal departments to implement necessary reforms. He emphasized the importance of regular engagement between the administration and business stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
To expedite permissions and approvals for industries, businesses, and construction projects, the commissioner highlighted the Single Window System, an online platform aimed at making clearances faster and more transparent.
Push for Sustainable Water Management
With Navi Mumbai’s rapid redevelopment set to increase the city’s population, Dr. Shinde underscored the need for water conservation. He urged builders to use treated recycled water from NMMC’s advanced sewage treatment plants for construction and non-drinking purposes, ensuring the preservation of potable water resources.
Focus on Investment and Swachh Bharat Mission
The meeting also discussed the implementation of the Chief Minister’s 100-Day Action Plan, particularly focusing on encouraging investments in regional government and semi-government offices.
As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the commissioner encouraged residents to participate in the Swachh Survekshan Citizen Feedback Survey to enhance Navi Mumbai’s cleanliness ranking. Citizens can submit their feedback through this official link.
