50 Computers and a Large RO Plant Gifted to Kalyan Railway School & Junior College (CBSE)
Mumbai: IRCTC has set a new milestone in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with its latest initiative in education and health. Under the leadership of the Hon’ble Minister of Railways and the guidance of Chairman & Managing Director Shri Sanjay Kumar Jain, IRCTC West Zone, Mumbai has donated 50 modern computers worth around ₹20 lakhs to the Central Railway Junior College (CBSE), Kalyan.

With these state-of-the-art computers, students will now be able to benefit from Digital Learning and E-Learning. They will gain easy access to the internet and modern technology, keeping them abreast with the latest global education patterns.
Along with this, IRCTC has also installed a large RO plant worth ₹10 lakhs, ensuring clean and safe drinking water for about 1,300 students of the institution.
IRCTC’s Commitment – Progress in Both Education and Health
Speaking on this occasion Shri Gaurav Jha, Group General Manager, IRCTC West Zone, said: that “Education today is becoming increasingly technology-based. This computer lab will play a crucial role in shaping the bright future of students. Our aim was not just to provide machines, but to ensure that students learn every aspect of technology. Digital literacy is the need of the hour.”

Mr. Manish Singh, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Mumbai Division, and Mrs. Jyoti Srivastava, Principal of Kalyan Railway School & Junior College, played a crucial role in bringing this project to fruition. Their guidance and support were instrumental in turning this initiative into reality.
Meanwhile, Mr. Vikrant Khismatrao, who implemented the project on the ground, mentioned that special attention was given while setting up the computer lab to ensure that all machines are state-of-the-art, providing students with the best possible environment for digital learning.
An Investment in the Future Generation
Teachers and parents of the school welcomed this CSR initiative, stating that it will bring a positive transformation in the lives of the children. The students will now have a dual benefit – access to modern digital education and assurance of clean drinking water.

This effort of IRCTC proves that when corporate organisations take their CSR responsibilities seriously, it creates a direct and meaningful impact on society. Especially in critical sectors like education and health, such initiatives can give a new direction to the younger generation.
