Harmony Foundation joins SEAL Ashram, Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Destitute and Orphans

Harmony Foundation celebrated the 76th Republic Day alongside the residents of SEAL Ashram, in an event graced by distinguished guest Shri Sanjay Darade IPS, IG Konkan Range on 26th January, 2025.

Dr. Abraham Mathai, Founder-Chairman Harmony Foundation & Former Vice-Chairman, Minorities Commission stated that this year’s Republic Day at SEAL Ashram was celebrated among destitute individuals, children, and residents with disabilities, showcasing their unwavering commitment and love for the nation, regardless of their circumstances.

Dr. Abraham Mathai also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Navi Mumbai Commissioner of Police, Shri Milind Barambe, for his unflinching support of SEAL Ashram. Officers like him strengthen the mission of such organizations committed to serving humanity.

Republic Day marks the day the Constitution of India came into effect, symbolizing the nation’s steadfast commitment to unity, equality, and democratic principles.

Dr. Abraham Mathai said that since its inception in 1999, SEAL Ashram has been devoted to rescuing destitute individuals and vulnerable children from the streets and railway platforms of Mumbai and its s“Harmony Foundation salutes SEAL Ashram for its remarkable humanitarian efforts, which embody the foundational ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India. SEAL Ashram has also been felicitated with Harmony Foundation’s prestigious Mother Teresa Memorial Awards for Social Justice in 2023 at the hands of the Maharashtra Governor”, Dr. Mathai added.

Dr. Mathai further said that over the years, SEAL Ashram has successfully reunited around 578 people with their loved ones. The mission of SEAL Ashram resonates with the vision of India’s constitutional framers, striving to build a just and equitable society free from social injustice, discrimination, and poverty.

Dr. Mathai also stated that by championing the principles of compassion and inclusion, SEAL Ashram serves as a lifeline for the abandoned and marginalized, exemplifying the values envisioned by our forefathers.
