Navi Mumbai: In a major boost to urban infrastructure, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has completed a modern Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility at its housing project in Kharkopar, Navi Mumbai, in a record 42 days. The milestone was achieved under CIDCO’s ambitious ‘Mission-45’ initiative.
CIDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal said, “At CIDCO, our guiding principles—Quality without Compromise, Speed without Delay, and Safety Above All—drive our mission to deliver exceptional infrastructure. Completing this MLCP exemplifies our commitment to setting new benchmarks in development.”
The parking facility, built as part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), is located at Plot No. 3 in Kharkopar under Package-4 of CIDCO’s Mass Housing Scheme. The corporation is developing 67,000 tenements under this initiative, spread across various nodes of Navi Mumbai.
Construction began on March 4, 2025, and was completed ahead of schedule on April 17, 2025. Projects of this scale typically require six months, but CIDCO completed the structure in just 42 days—saving nearly four and a half months—using globally recognized precast technology. A total of 2,212 precast components were used in the RCC structure, built from plinth to terrace.
The MLCP includes Ground + 6 floors, with the upper six levels dedicated to parking and the ground floor designated as a community center. The facility spans 1.43 lakh sq. ft. and can accommodate 365 four-wheelers.
With the rise in private vehicle ownership and shrinking urban space, the facility is expected to ease parking issues for residents of CIDCO’s housing projects.
CIDCO officials noted that the corporation’s housing complexes are designed to offer modern amenities and excellent connectivity, aiming to match the standards of private real estate developments. The addition of the MLCP is a major step toward enhancing infrastructure and livability in Navi Mumbai.
