CIDCO Seeks Expert Operator for International-Standard Kharghar Valley Golf Course

Date:

Navi Mumbai’s golfing scene is set for a major transformation as the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) moves to appoint an agency to oversee operations at the Kharghar Valley Golf Course (KVGC). With the recent upgrade from a 9-hole to an 18-hole international championship-standard course, CIDCO is now looking for an experienced operator to manage daily functions, including the driving range and golf academy in Sector 22, Kharghar. A tender has been floated to select an agency for a three-year term.

Completed last year, the upgrade has positioned KVGC as a premier golf destination. The 18-hole course has been open since October 2024, boasting a newly constructed G+1 driving range structure with cutting-edge amenities. CIDCO aims to enhance the golfing experience by bringing in a seasoned operator through a competitive bidding process. Dr. Mukherjee highlighted that the project not only elevates Navi Mumbai’s profile in the global sporting arena but also contributes to tourism and economic growth, aligning with key infrastructure projects like the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.

KVGC stands out with India’s longest fairway, stretching 756 yards, and remains the only public golf course in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). It is also the first public golf course developed in MMR post-independence. The facility offers a top-tier driving range with 29 hitting bays and comprehensive practice amenities.

The appointed agency will be responsible for maintaining the greens, tees, fairways, and roughs, along with equipment such as golf carts and maintenance machinery. Additionally, it will oversee operations at the driving range, golf academy, and short game area while implementing branding and revenue-generating initiatives like advertising and sponsorships. High standards of housekeeping will be maintained across public facilities, including the clubhouse, toilet blocks, parking areas, and landscaping.

Bidders must demonstrate prior experience in managing at least one 9-hole or 18-hole golf course and should have hosted professional tournaments like PGTI and IGU events, as well as golf training camps, within the past seven years.

The upgrade to an 18-hole course is expected to be fully completed by December 23, further strengthening KVGC’s status as a top golfing destination.
