5.49-km Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel Project Gets a Push from CIDCO

Date:

Kharghar: In a push to accelerate key infrastructure development in Navi Mumbai, Vijay Singhal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, directed officials to expedite the pace of work and ensure timely completion of the Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel Link Road and CIDCO Housing Scheme at Kharghar, while emphasizing strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

Singhal conducted an on-site inspection of both projects on Tuesday April 29, accompanied by senior CIDCO officials including Shantanu Goel and Dr. Raja Dayanidhi, Joint Managing Directors; Sheela Karunakaran, Chief Engineer (Navi Mumbai International Airport and Special Projects); Prabhakar Phulari, Additional Chief Engineer; Santosh Ombhase, Superintending Engineer; along with other officers and staff.

The Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel Link Road aims to directly connect Turbhe in North Navi Mumbai with Kharghar in the south. The proposed 5.490-km four-lane route will run from the Sion-Panvel Highway near Juinagar Railway Station to Central Park in Kharghar, and includes a 1.763-km long tunnel. The project is expected to significantly reduce commute time and improve traffic flow across the city.

Singhal also reviewed CIDCO’s transit-oriented housing project near Kharghar Railway Station. With Kharghar emerging as a premier residential node, the housing initiative is set to offer well-planned, high-quality urban living options close to key transport infrastructure.
