The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a complete water supply shutdown across the city on Thursday, April 10, due to critical maintenance work on the Morbe main water pipeline near Aghroli Bridge in Belapur. The pipeline, which runs alongside the railway tracks, has been facing recurring leakages. To resolve this issue, NMMC is commencing the first phase of its replacement.
As part of the operation, water supply through the main line will be suspended for 14 hours, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 midnight on April 10. The shutdown will affect several areas, including Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli, and Airoli. Residents in CIDCO-administered Kharghar and Kamothe, as well as those with direct tap connections from the main line, will also experience a disruption.
NMMC has further informed that water pressure across these areas may be low and the supply insufficient on Friday, April 11. Citizens are urged to store enough water in advance and use it wisely during this period. The civic body has appealed for public cooperation to ensure the smooth execution of the repair work.
